Hello everyone, years ago, due to the virus, the city was closed in China, and now it is basically stable. The editor can only come out last month. In the future, he will continue to popularize some knowledge about glass products, hoping to bring you a little harvest. I am very happy!
Today, I will introduce the process and technology of manual glass blowing:Blowing glass by hand is an ancient process. About 2000 years ago, craftsmen in Syria invented glass blowing.
1.Picking
After the quartz sand and various colored auxiliary materials are heated to liquid state, the blowing craftsman picks out a small piece of material in the material pool with a pick rod.
2.Blowing bubbles
Blow the glass material that the craftsman will pick out and blow a small ball (like a small light bulb) through the pick rod
3.Blow the cannon
Another blowing craftsman put the blown bubbles into the material pool, dip some material liquid, put them into the opened mold, and blow out the shape required by the mold. (in this process, blowing workers are required to have many years of blowing foundation before they can work.)
4.Heating and temperature control
After the mold is formed, there is only a cup body. The bottom part of the cup body needs to be processed continuously, so the temperature cannot be lowered, so this part should be heated and controlled.
5.Straightening
After baking the material stuck on the bottom of the cup body at high temperature, make a cupping and control the size as required. Without the use of scale, the craftsman relies on the "visual inspection" experience to make the visual inspection error accurate to the required range. This process is the biggest difference between manual blown glass and machine-made glass.
6.Make the bottom
After pulling, we need to make the base of the cup. First pick a little material and stick it to the end of the cup. Then cut off the extra material. Then use the splint tool to make the bottom of the cup.
7.Annealing
After the bottom is pinched, the cup is basically formed, and then put into the annealing furnace for annealing treatment. This step is to reduce the stress of the cup
8.Burst
After the stress is removed, wait for the cup to cool down, and there is surplus waste at the cup mouth. After measuring with a ruler, cut the upper part according to the required size. First pull the cup with a glass knife and bake it with fire, and the surplus part will fall off by itself.
9.Grinding
After the step, the cup mouth is easy to cut and hurt people, so you have to grind the cup mouth evenly on the electric water grinding stone plate.
10.Baking port
Heat the mouth of each cup to soften and smooth the edge.
11.Inspection packaging
The inspector shall inspect each formed cup and select according to the quality requirements. The cup after inspection shall be scrubbed, packed and warehoused by the packer.
In the process of manual blowing glass, because of the slow flow of hot glass paste, the air between the glass blocks can not float out of the surface and naturally form bubbles, which is normal, and also an important feature of distinguishing manual blowing glassware from mechanical glassware by naked eyes. And artists also use bubbles to show the life quality of glass. Bubbles become a part of appreciating the art of hand-made glass!
