How to choose a red wine cup

Under normal circumstances, the wine glass is tulip-shaped, with a big belly and a small mouth, so that the aroma of the wine can be retained and the aroma of the wine can be gathered on the glass. A large-sized cup belly can allow the liquor to rotate in the cup and make full contact with the air. In addition, the cup feet must be high enough to ensure that the hand can be held, to avoid touching the belly of the cup and affecting the temperature of the wine. Because the finest wine glass is designed with a suitable glass shape, it guides the wine flow to the most suitable taste area on the tongue. Therefore, wine glasses can also be divided into different types according to the differences in wine personality.

1. Bordeaux wine glass: The glass is long and the mouth is narrow. The shape of this glass can make the wine smell gather in the mouth. In addition to Burgundy red wines, Bordeaux wine glasses are also suitable for many other red wines, because most wines are made according to Bordeaux style.

2. Burgundy wine glass: The glass is relatively short, and its classic feature is the shape similar to a balloon, that is, "big belly". This type of glass is more likely to exude the rich and complex aroma of wines produced in Burgundy, France. Obviously, the Bordeaux wine glass focuses on "receiving incense", which seems to be low-key and restrained; while the Burgundy wine glass focuses on "loose fragrance", which is more high-profile and publicity.

3. White wine glass: The glass is longer and the belly is thinner, like a tulip to be placed. The white wine glass is thinner than the red wine glass to reduce the contact between wine and air and make the aroma last longer .

4. Champagne glasses: Champagne glasses are usually tulip champagne glasses and champagne flute glasses. The slim tulip-shaped goblet is like a slender tulip and is more popular with women. The slender cup is designed to allow enough space for bubbles to rise. The standard champagne glass has a sharp concave point at the bottom. This small design can make the bubbles richer and more beautiful. Champagne flutes are long, narrow, and elegant in shape, making them ideal for tasting champagne.

5. ISO tasting glass: If you only intend to use one wine glass to taste all the wine, you can choose the tasting glass developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The shape of the ISO tasting cup is similar to a tulip with buds. In contrast to wine glasses that are suitable for various places of wine, it does not highlight any characteristics of the wine, but directly displays the original flavor of the wine.
